soft refrain
Organic Rooibos · Caffeine Free · Loose Leaf
3.5 oz / 96g · Compostable pouch · Organic certified
Makes approximately 30–40 cups.
How to brew:
1 tsp per 8 oz · 205°F · 5–7 minutes
the moment
For the hour between work and rest. The day hasn't fully let go yet. This is the tea for that threshold — warm enough to signal the shift, unhurried enough to honour it.
IN THE CUP
Earthy South African rooibos with warm vanilla, a quiet note of star anise, and a finish of sweet fruit. The rooibos brews to a deep reddish orange. Comforting without being sweet. Smooth without being bland. Best drunk slowly.
Pairs well with: a book you've been meaning to get back to. Sugar and milk welcome. Lemon, no.
WHERE IT COMES FROM
The rooibos is sourced from the Cederberg region of South Africa's Western Cape — the only place in the world where the Aspalathus linearis plant grows naturally. The star anise comes from Petchabun, Thailand. The camomile and cornflower from the Nile Delta and Fayoum, Egypt.
All ingredients are certified organic by Pro-Cert Organic Systems, with equivalency across USDA NOP, the EU, Canada (COR), and Japan (JAS) standards. The blend also carries Ethical Tea Partnership certification.
THE PACKAGING
The tea ships in a kraft paper stand-up bag from Enviro Flex Pack — natural kraft paper exterior, metallic cellulose interior, plant-based throughout. No plastic. The pouch is designed to be home-compostable — the kraft paper and cellulose construction is built to break down in home and industrial compost conditions. We're in the process of obtaining third-party certification and will update this page when documentation is on file. (Industrial composting will break it down more reliably than a backyard pile — the lamination is thick, and home conditions vary.) The zipper is compostable too. The label is an EcoEnclose sticker printed on 100% post-consumer waste kraft paper. Recyclable with the pouch.
